Elvacite™ 4412 is a hydroxyl functional methacrylate resin that is designed to be the main binder in low VOC thermosetting coatings and adhesives.
Elvacite™ 4412 is a methacrylate copolymer that contains hydroxyl functionality. This functionality allows it to be cross linked and cured using isocyanates and amines. Elvacite™ 4412 is available as a solid bead that is soluble in ketones, toluene, and esters. It has a low molecular weight and produces solution with a low viscosity at high solids. Because of this it is particularly useful in coating and adhesive formulations that require low VOC content. Solutions containing Elvacite™ 4412 form films that are extremely durable with an optimal balance of hardness and flexibility. Elvacite™ 4412 is an ideal binder for reducing VOCs in thermosetting formulations.
