Tyzor® IBAY is a 100% active titanium ethyl acetoacetate complex used as a cross-linker, adhesion promoter, and film former. It functions by reacting with hydroxyl, silanol, and carboxyl groups present in coating, adhesive, and sealant formulations and on substrates. Tyzor® IBAY is extremely effective in cross-linking silicones and silanol end-capped polymers, such as those used in room-temperature-vulcanizing (RTV-1) silicone sealants. It may also be used as a reaction catalyst in esterification, transesterification, condensation, and addition reactions. Since it is highly reactive with water, it can also function as a moisture scavenger or drying agent.
